SME Survey – have your say

SME SURVEY

The City Corporation is renewing its approach to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) through a new SME Delivery Strategy.  We would like to draw on your views and input as this work is carried out.

Survey: Officers are working to produce a high-level analysis on the City SME ecosystem that will be used to inform our future plans and support with wider engagement with key stakeholders. As part of this, an SME survey has been launched which will help form a strong evidence base for the SME Delivery Strategy.

55 BISHOPSGATE

In July the Planning and Transportation Committee gave permission for the construction of a new building in Cornhill ward and within the Eastern City Cluster at 55 Bishopsgate. It will be 284 metres tall, the third tallest tower in the Square Mile. The scheme consists of a 63 storey and a 22 storey mixed use building delivering 103,000 sq. metres of office space which will include co-working and affordable space. It will become an exemplar of the City Corporation Climate Action Strategy with urban greening features and renewable energy technologies. There will be 1400 long stay cycle spaces. At ground level the building will be open providing 2545 sq. metres of new public realm flowing through to the wider Bishopsgate area. This space will provide the ability to support for events and pop-ups, digital screens, art installations and landscaping.

Bank Junction Traffic and Bus Route changes

All Change at Bank Construction Works

There are a number of traffic changes that are due to begin in July 2023 as part of the All Change at Bank project at and around Bank Junction. The whole project is due for completion in Spring 2024.

Traffic changes, which will allow for a new public space to be created in Threadneedle Street will begin from 17 July:

  • Threadneedle Street between Bank junction and Bartholomew Lane will be closed to all motor vehicles 24/7.
  • Bus routes 8, 26, N8, N26, N242 and N551 will no longer travel on Threadneedle Street.
  • Instead, bus routes 8, 26, N8, N26, N242 and N551 will travel along Cornhill and re-join their normal routing.

In addition, from 17 July 2023 there will also be changes on Mansion House Street:

  • Two-way traffic will return to Mansion House Street.
  • Motor vehicles will not be able to turn left into Princes Street.
  • Access to Cornhill remains open by using Princes Street southbound.

More information will be available via the project website: www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/allchangeatbank
